Location

The paradisiacal island of Kanifushi is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll, north of the main island of Malé. It has the shape of a golf club and is approximately three kilometers long and about 90 meters wide. The inner side of the atoll offers a palm-fringed, white dream beach directly on the turquoise lagoon, while the outer side has a rocky coral beach. The transfer by seaplane from the international airport takes approximately 35 minutes.

The luxurious 5* resort combines traditional Maldivian elements with natural materials from the tropical surroundings. The overall concept offers the latest comfort for discerning guests. The complex consists of 162 freestanding, stylishly designed villas and suites, mostly facing the sunset and with beach access on the inner side of the atoll. These are separated from each other by the tropical garden, offering unique privacy. At the "head" of the island on the inner side, you will find the main area of the island with a jetty, reception, and dive center. From there, you can reach the centrally located clubhouse as well as the kids' club. On the southern outer atoll side are "The Liquid" bar and the main restaurant "The Spice," which offers a wide selection of delicacies, as well as the large pool landscape up to 50 meters long with a bar. The inviting spa complex is just a stone's throw away. At the other end of the island, there is another pool (adults only) with a sunset bar and restaurant. Opposite, directly on the reef, are the specialty restaurants: "Just Veg" with vegetarian dishes and "Ceylon Bliss" with Sri Lankan cuisine and street-food-style snacks.

Accommodation

Beach Villa

The extremely spacious and luxuriously furnished villas (approx. 100 sqm) feature an open-air bathroom with a whirlpool, hairdryer, air conditioning, fan, safe, flat-screen TV, CD/DVD player, telephone, iPod docking station, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, and a private outdoor area with a daybed. Schauinsland-Reisen guests exclusively receive a beach bag as a gift and a special turn-down service once per stay. (2BV).

Water Villa

With the same amenities as the Beach Villa, but slightly larger (approx. 105 sqm) and built over the water on stilts with direct access to the sea (W2V). Also available at an extra charge facing the sunset and with a private pool (2OT).

Pool Beach Villa Sunset

In addition to the same amenities as the Beach Villas, these are more spacious (192 sqm) and feature an outdoor pool with a sunset view (V2S).

Beach Villa Pool

The Beach Villa Pool offers the same amenities as the Beach Villa, plus a private 30 sqm pool in the private garden area with a veranda and comfortable seating (VPZ).

All meals are served as a buffet with live cooking stations, grills, and theme nights at the main restaurant "The Spice". Snacks and à la carte lunch at "The Sunset" and vegetarian dinner at "Just Veg" are included. The "Teppanyaki" restaurant with Japanese grill dishes is always extra.
Once a week, enjoy "fine dining à la carte" at "The Sunset" or "The Pier Six".
Spirits, beer, and liqueurs (including premium brands) are available at the pool bars and the restaurants "Just Veg" and "The Spice". Additionally, unlimited cocktails, mocktails, numerous fresh juices and soft drinks, mineral water, a selection of tea and coffee specialties, various wines, and sparkling wine are included from 10 AM to 12 AM. The minibar is replenished twice daily with soft drinks, mineral water, beer, wine, and savory snacks.
One excursion to sunset fishing per stay and one additional excursion (selectable on site).
Snorkeling equipment is provided for the entire duration of your stay.
Two snorkeling excursions (depending on weather conditions) take place daily and are included.
Non-motorized water sports are included, and there is a 20% discount on the first 2 regular dives (PADI certificate is required).
Free access to the sports facilities and fully equipped fitness center with a tennis court, fitness equipment, and indoor games.
Spa treatments are included depending on your stay (e.g., a 45-minute treatment for adults for stays of 4-7 nights).

Non-motorized water sports are included, and there is a 20% discount on the first 2 regular dives (PADI certificate is required). Hotel-independent transfer information:
Speedboat: Operation for estimated arrival/departure between 5 AM and 11 PM // Domestic flight: Operation for arrivals/departures between 9:30 AM and 4 PM // Seaplane: Operation for arrivals/departures between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
A seaplane transfer may involve 1-2 intermediate landings.
For arrivals/departures outside the above times, in case of bad weather, or during extended waiting times at immigration, an overnight stay in Malé may be necessary.
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) and currently most domestic flights are only operated during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Malé may be required.

Luggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 3 kg hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on site (approx. USD 5 per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat later.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For a double occupancy with 1 or 2 children, there may only be 1 or 2 large beds available in total. Consequently, it may happen that for 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child has to sleep in the parents' bed.
