Location

Located in the heart of Thuringia in the spa town of Friedrichroda, the comfortable AHORN Berghotel Friedrichroda offers breathtaking views of the rolling hills of the Thuringian Forest. The health resort is ideal for an active and relaxing holiday. Nearby attractions include the Marienglashöhle cave (approx. 3 km) and the Thüringerwaldbahn railway, which offers tours to Gotha or Bad Tabarz (approx. 15 minutes on foot). Gotha is about 14 km away, while Eisenach with its Wartburg castle is about 30 km away. An outdoor swimming pool in Friedrichroda is reachable in about 15 minutes on foot. For hiking enthusiasts, the Benediktinerpfad trail (15 km circular route) starts directly at the hotel.

Facilities

The AHORN Berghotel has a total of 457 rooms and further amenities include the Ludowinger Lounge, a beer garden, a summer terrace, as well as a sauna and a fitness room. Guests can relax in the large indoor pool and the weather-dependent outdoor pool. A spacious outdoor area with seating, an Active Team for adult and children's programs, and a 24-hour reception complement the offerings. Dining is available at the Azado Restaurant & Café on the 12th floor.

Accommodation

Double room 1 extra bed

The rooms feature a seating area, shower/WC, and hairdryer. They consist of a sleeping area with a double bed and an extra bed. The average room size is approx. 19 m² (Z1D).

Single room single/child

With otherwise similar amenities and size to the double rooms, these rooms have only a double bed without an extra bed (E1K).

DZ Interconnecting

The rooms consist of 2 double rooms located next to or opposite each other (no connecting door). The first room has a double bed, and the second room has a double bed and an extra bed. Both rooms also feature a desk, shower/WC, and are approximately 19m² each. Please note: Children under 2 years old may not stay in a separate room without a parent (CI2).
