Location

The family-run hotel Amnissos Residence, managed with great care, is located in the village of Pigi, about 150 m from the sand/pebble beach (natural beach; bathing shoes recommended; at the taverna "Paraplous"; a road must be crossed; drinks and food are available for a fee). If desired, a free shuttle to the beach is offered (please contact the reception).
Shops and entertainment facilities are available in the vicinity. The port city of Rethymnon with its beautiful old town and magnificent avenues is only about 8 km away, and a bus stop is located in front of the hotel.
Heraklion Airport is approximately 75 km away.

The schauinsland-reisen original hotel, built in a village-like style, was renovated in many areas for summer 2023. It has 87 rooms spread across a main building and several bungalow buildings, offering a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage room, Wi-Fi (included throughout the complex), and the buffet restaurant "Olive Tree".
The highlight is the newly built rooftop bar "Open Sky" for 2023, which invites you for an evening cocktail with a wonderful view. In the well-maintained outdoor area of the hotel, there is a swimming pool with an integrated children's pool and a renovated sun terrace with gazebos, poufs, and comfortable sun loungers for relaxation. The tropical Shisha Bar "Tropical" at the main pool also provides refreshments (shisha for a fee).
Sun loungers and umbrellas are included by the pool and on the beach (at the "Paraplous" taverna, the taverna charges a fee). Beach towels are available for a deposit. Parking at the hotel is included, subject to availability.

Double Room Main Building

The double rooms located in the main building of the hotel have a shower/WC, hairdryer, bathroom amenities, telephone, LCD satellite TV, Wi-Fi (incl.), individually adjustable air conditioning, safe (included), mini-fridge (can be used as a minibar on request, refill for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities (daily refill), and a balcony or terrace (D/DI). A bottle of water is provided in your room upon arrival.
Also available for single occupancy (DE).

Superior Bungalow

These rooms have the same amenities as the double rooms (in various designs), have been renovated, and are located in the bungalow buildings (2BU/3BU/4BU). Also available for single occupancy (1BU/BUA).

Deluxe Bungalow

These rooms were newly built in winter 2021/2022 and offer more modern amenities (2BD).

Bungalow with Jacuzzi

These rooms have the same amenities as the double rooms, are renovated, and are located on the upper or lower floor of the bungalow buildings with a jacuzzi on the terrace (2CW).
Also available for single occupancy (C1Q).
The jacuzzi is not supervised by a lifeguard. Please be especially mindful of your children when using this area and act responsibly.

Bungalow Swim-Up

These rooms have the same amenities as the double rooms, are renovated, and are located in the bungalow buildings with direct access to the communal pool (BSW).
Also available for single occupancy (SWE).
The swim-up pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. Please be especially mindful of your children when using this area and act responsibly.

Early bird breakfast (on request), breakfast (7:30-10 AM), lunch (1:30-3 PM), and dinner (7:30-9:30 PM) are served buffet-style with live cooking stations in the hotel's main restaurant, "Olive Tree", offering Greek and international cuisine.
Occasional theme nights are held.
Freshly squeezed orange juice is included during breakfast.
Menus for vegetarians and diabetics are available on request. Please contact the local reception for this.
During the day, various snacks are available from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and ice cream from 12 PM to 4 PM.
In the afternoon, coffee/tea and pastries are served from 3 PM to 4 PM.
Amnissos Residence supports local Cretan companies with its beverages and emphasizes regional products. Therefore, only local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (water, soft drinks, fruit juices, draft beer, wine (red, white, rosé), whiskey, vodka, tequila, rum, gin, ouzo, raki, brandy) are included at the open bar from 11 AM to 11 PM.
Additionally, 10 different cocktails are included during this period (Blue Lagoon, Cosmopolitan, Tequila Sunrise, Cretan Margarita, Greek Sunset, Pina Colada, Strawberry Mojito, Bellini, White Lady, Tutti Frutti).

Note on climate resilience contribution

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience contribution, which is to be paid by the guest locally, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room from 01.01.2025.
