Location

This small but nice 3-star hotel offers its guests a great location in one of the most popular regions of Crete. The Athina Hotel is located about 70m from the nearest sandy beach, where guests can feel the wonderful sea air as soon as they wake up. After a day at the beach, hotel guests can explore the nearby shops in the evening, which are about 70m away. The nearest larger town is Rethymnon (approx. 32 km away); for hotel guests without a rental car, the bus is a good option, with the nearest bus stop about 1.5 km away. The nearest airport (HER) is approximately 52 km away.

Facilities

The Athina Hotel has a total of 35 rooms, offering guests a wonderful private and familiar atmosphere. The rooms are spread across a main and a secondary building. The staff at the reception are always happy to help with any questions or requests and will try to answer them as best as possible. For a refreshing dip after a hot summer day, guests can enjoy the freshwater pool in the outdoor area.

Note on climate resilience levy

For stays from 01/01/2018 onwards, the Greek government is charging a climate resilience levy, which is to be paid by the guest locally, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room from 01/01/2025.
