Location

The Mare Village hotel is located in the south of Crete, about 400 m from the sand/pebble beach, which has been awarded the "Blue Flag". The sister hotel "Mare Blue" can be reached via an underpass after approx. 300 m. The nearby town of Koutsounari is about 700 m away, and the distance to the well-known town of Ierapetra with its numerous entertainment options is approx. 8 km. Heraklion Airport is about 100 km from the hotel. A bus stop is accessible after a short walk (approx. 100 m away).

Facilities

The hotel, partially renovated in 2025, has a total of 107 rooms spread across a main building and two annexes. It offers guests an entrance area with a reception, TV lounge, elevators (in the main building), the main restaurant "Minos" and the "Sunset" pool bar. The well-maintained outdoor area features a swimming pool with a sun terrace and a separate children's pool. Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex and in the rooms. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool, and beach towels are also provided free of charge, with changes possible every three days. Parking is free and subject to availability.

Family Room Garden View

Consisting of a living/sleeping area with sofa beds and a separate bedroom with a double or twin beds, these rooms offer ideal accommodation for families. They feature a bathroom with shower or bath/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning (May 1st - Sept 30th), safe, satellite TV, telephone, mini-fridge (filled with a bottle of water on arrival), and a furnished balcony or terrace (DF2).

Family Room Sea View

With the same amenities as the Family Rooms with Garden View, these rooms impress with their view of the Libyan Sea (F2M).

Breakfast (7-10 am), lunch (12:30-2:30 pm) and dinner (7-9:30 pm) in the main restaurant as a buffet. A late riser's breakfast is offered from 10-10:30 am for those who sleep in.
Hot and cold snacks are available at the "Sunset" pool bar (2:30-3:30 pm). Coffee and tea with pastries are served from 4:30-5:30 pm.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included from 10 am to 11 pm at the "Sunset" pool bar.
Gluten-free and special dietary meals are also available.

Not included in All Inclusive

Drinks ordered after 11 pm, freshly squeezed juices, milkshakes, selected wines and cocktails, champagne, and branded spirits are not included in the All Inclusive package.

Sports included

Open-air fitness corner, tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, mini-football, basketball (all at the sister hotel Mare Blue).

Sports for a fee

Water sports on the beach offered by local providers (at the sister hotel Mare Blue).

Note for climate resilience contribution

For stays from 01/01/2018, the Greek government is levying a climate resilience contribution, which is to be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and, from 01/01/2025, will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room.
