Location

The Hotel South Coast is located directly on the natural pebble beach (swimming shoes recommended) of Koutsouras. In the quiet village you will find taverns and shops. Ierapetra is approx. 24 km away. A bus stop is approx. 50 m from the hotel. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 110 km.

The small complex is managed with a family atmosphere and great care, and is a schauinsland-reisen original. Your hosts and the entire team ensure a completely pleasant holiday. The total of 82 rooms are spread across 5 buildings. Inside, the cozily furnished hotel offers guests a 24-hour reception, a souvenir shop, a TV and lounge area with satellite TV, and a restaurant. Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex. Outside, there is a beautifully landscaped swimming pool with an inviting sun terrace, surrounded by lush gardens with palm trees, as well as a pool/snack bar with a seating terrace. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge by the pool. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available at the beach for a fee. Beach towels are also available for a fee. There is also another annex building with its own swimming pool, sun loungers, umbrellas, and a pool bar.
Next to the hotel, the family runs its own Aloe Vera plantation and will gladly inform you about the cultivation, processing, and quality of the cosmetic series derived from it. The hotel's own products can be purchased at the hotel.

Renovated Double Room Deluxe

The Double Rooms Deluxe, renovated for Summer 2025, feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, individually controlled air conditioning, safe, telephone, TV, Wi-Fi (included), kettle, mini-fridge, dining area, and a balcony or terrace (DD2).
Also available for single occupancy (DD1).

Superior Double Room

With the same amenities as the Double Rooms Deluxe, plus an espresso machine with 2 capsules upon arrival (DSU/DSI).
Also available for single occupancy (DSE).

Chillout Double Room

The rooms, newly built for Summer 2026, feature the same amenities as the Superior Double Rooms plus a ceiling fan, bathrobes, slippers, full-length mirror, and cosmetic mirror, as well as a furnished balcony or terrace with 2 comfortable loungers, 2 gazebos or 2 lounge chairs (C2D/ACD).
Also available for single occupancy (C1H).

Maisonette

The modernly designed maisonettes are located in the annex building. They have the same amenities as the Superior Double Rooms, plus a sleeping area on the upper floor (accessible via stairs). Further amenities include daily cleaning and daily towel change. Bed linen is changed twice a week (M2/TM2).

Deluxe Suite

The Deluxe Suites, also renovated for Summer 2025, have the same amenities as the Double Rooms Deluxe but feature a separate bedroom and are more spacious (S2/SI).
Also available for single occupancy (S1).

Local alcoholic beverages such as house wine, beer, raki, and ouzo, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like coffee, soft drinks, juices, and water are included from 11 AM to 10 PM. A selection of cocktails is included from 3 PM to 10 PM.

Note on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest locally, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and, from 01.01.2025, will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room.
