Location

The well-known Cactus Hotels chain opened a fully renovated 5-star comfort hotel exclusively for adults in Summer 2019. In Summer 2023, Cactus Mare was extended with an annexe building, located opposite the main building in the second row from the beach (one street to cross). As an adults-only hotel (16 years and older), Cactus Mare offers a very special ambiance with the customary attentive service and high-quality accommodation that Cactus is known for. It is located in Stalis, with the main building situated directly on the sandy beach (bathing shoes recommended as there are stone slabs at the water's edge), between the resorts of Malia and Hersonissos. Shops and entertainment venues are in the vicinity and easily accessible on foot. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 32 km.

Fresh white and light wood give the modern schauinsland-reisen original facility its luxurious charm. The main building has 90 rooms, and the annexe building has 31 more rooms. In the main building, you will find a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage room, main restaurant, and a fitness/wellness area. Wi-Fi is included throughout the entire facility. The outdoor area of the main building extends in terraces towards the sea, ensuring a magnificent sea view from almost every sun lounger. Additionally, a swimming pool with a pool bar offers refreshments, and the beach bar serves drinks on the beach. The annexe building, newly constructed in 2023, additionally offers 2 à la carte restaurants (Steakhouse & Italian), a swimming pool, and a pool bar. All facilities of the main building can be used. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at both pools and on the beach, subject to availability. Beach towels are also included for all rooms. Parking spaces at the hotel are free of charge, subject to availability.

Double Room Superior Main Building

The rooms are located in the main building. The pleasantly cool design of the facility is also reflected in the rooms. The airy and light-designed rooms combine traditional elements with modern design. They feature a walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, telephone, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, iron and ironing board, 40'' flatscreen TV, minibar (included; replenished every 2 days with 2 soft drinks, 2 fruit juices, 2 beers, 1 mini bottle of wine, as well as Ouzo, Vodka, and Gin. Other drink requests or more frequent replenishment can be ordered at the reception for a fee), Wi-Fi, coffee/tea maker (daily replenishment), Nespresso machine (2 capsules per day included), pillow menu, and a balcony or terrace (DSU). A bottle of wine and a bottle of water are provided in the room upon arrival. Also available as a single occupancy room (DSE).

These rooms have the same amenities as the Double Rooms Superior and additionally offer a side sea view (D2S). Also available with a direct sea view (DMU).

Double Room Superior Jacuzzi

These rooms have the same amenities as the Double Rooms Superior and additionally feature a Jacuzzi on the terrace (J2N). Also available with a private pool (U2P).

Suite Main Building

Located in the main building, these suites offer more space and a separate seating area with a sofa compared to the Double Rooms Superior (S2). Also available with side sea view (2SS) or with a Jacuzzi on the terrace (S2J).

Double Room Superior Annex

The rooms are located in the annexe building, newly constructed in 2023, in the second row from the beach (one street to cross). The rooms are located in the annexe building, newly constructed in 2023, in the second row from the beach (one street to cross). They offer more space and a separate seating area with a sofa compared to the Double Rooms Superior (ANS). Also available with a sharing pool (SUX).

Loft Annex

The rooms are located in the annexe building, newly constructed in 2023, in the second row from the beach (one street to cross). The lofts are spread over 2 levels and have the same amenities as the Double Rooms Superior. The sleeping area is on the lower level, and the bathroom with a walk-in shower/WC or bathtub is on the upper level (LAN).

Breakfast (7-10 am), lunch (12:30-2 pm), and dinner (6:30-9 pm) are served in the buffet restaurant of the main building. Once per stay, dinner is included in the à la carte restaurants (reservations required). At the pool bar, you can enjoy refreshing drinks and snacks from 10 am to 6 pm. The beach bar serves various local drinks from 10 am to 6 pm. From 12 pm to 2 pm, fresh Gyros, Souvlaki, Pizza, and Burgers are offered. Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included from 10 am to midnight at the bar. Gluten-free options are available. Vegetarian and special diet meals are available upon request.

Small fitness room in the main building. (The fitness room at Cactus Royal can also be used.)

Note on climate resilience contribution

For stays from January 1, 2018, onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience contribution, which is payable by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is staggered from €0.50 to €15 per day and room from January 1, 2025. For stays in high season (April 1 - October 31): Land category 1-2 stars: €2, Land category 3 stars: €5, Land category 4 stars: €10, Land category 5 stars: €15.
