Location

The town of Bad Hofgastein offers diverse recreational opportunities. Bad Hofgastein provides ample space to truly unwind and relax during your vacation. Additionally, the surroundings of Bad Hofgastein offer several interesting destinations for day trips. The Alpentherme (approx. 500m) and the town center with its cafés, restaurants, and shops (approx. 350m) are particularly recommended. The Schlossalmbahn cable car is about 3 km away. There is a connection to the Bad Hofgastein train station (approx. 6 km).

Facilities

The 4-star Johannesbad Hotel Palace offers a reception hall with a fireplace, a reception desk, a lounge, and an approximately 30,000 m² hotel park with walking paths, in addition to its total of 198 accommodation units. The property consists of a main building and an annex. The hotel boasts a diverse culinary offering with two restaurants, "Wiener Saal" and "Parkrestaurant," as well as two parlors, "Zirbenstüberl" and "Salzburgerstüberl." You can end an eventful day on vacation in good company at the hotel bar "Palace" or at the public bar "Piccolo," located about 500m from the hotel. The panorama lounge offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountain landscape. The Vitaloase with its indoor pool ensures maximum relaxation.

The double rooms are approx. 18m² in size and feature a double bed, a seating area, a desk, a balcony, a safe (free of charge), and heating. They also include a TV, telephone, and Wi-Fi. The bathroom is equipped with a shower/WC, hairdryer, and bathrobe (free of charge) (D).

The Comfort rooms are more spacious (approx. 26m²) and, in addition to the double bed, have 2 extra beds. The bathroom features a bathtub or shower. Otherwise, the amenities are similar (DKO).

Single Room Comfort

The rooms for 1 adult are similar to the Double Comfort rooms but are smaller (approx. 18m²) and have a single bed (EKO).

Information

NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying in the state of Salzburg from May 1, 2025, there will be a new levy called the "Mobility Tax". This fee will be collected alongside the local tax per night and will be used for the expansion of public transport. In return, all guests will receive free use of public transportation in their holiday destination. The levy must be paid regardless of whether public transport is used.
- The Mobility Tax is a legally mandated fee and must be paid for all taxable overnight stays.
- From May 1, 2025: €0.50, with a gradual increase, from May 1, 2027: €1.10.
