Location

Altitude: approx. 768 meters Welcome to Maishofen! This traditional village is always worth a visit. Its central location makes it a wonderful holiday destination. In addition, interesting day trip destinations await your visit in the surroundings of Maishofen. For example, the Tauern Spa thermal baths, 13 km away, are highly recommended. As soon as the first snowflakes fall, Maishofen shows its winter splendor with snow-capped peaks. The main focus is now naturally on winter sports due to the Schmitten ski area, approx. 8.5 km away, with a total of approx. 77 km of pistes. Skiing, ice skating, fat biking, and snow biking are just a few of the activities you can enjoy. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area is about 20 km away. Tobogganing on the Bramberg toboggan run (Europe's longest illuminated toboggan run) (approx. 46 km away) is also great fun.

Facilities

Partially renovated in 2019, the Alpenrose accommodation offers a total of 30 units, a reception, a lounge, and an e-car charging station. Enjoy culinary delights in the breakfast room, restaurant, and a traditional parlor. You can end an eventful day of your holiday in a convivial atmosphere at the hotel bar. A lockable ski and snowboard storage room, as well as a heated ski boot room with a ski boot dryer, are available for your winter sports equipment. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Schmitten-Zell am See ski area: Altitude: approx. 750-1,965 m The Schmitten-Zell am See winter sports area offers perfectly groomed pistes, freeriding opportunities, and a race course. Fun and games await the little ones in the children's area. But it's not just skiers who get their money's worth here, as the area is considered a cross-country skiing paradise with approx. 48 km of classic cross-country trails. Various huts invite you to stop for a break near the slopes. A snow park also promises a lot of fun.
