The hotel is located in a quiet spot on a cliff overlooking the natural beach Praia Formosa, approx. 5 km west of Funchal. There are a few small restaurants and bars nearby. Funchal International Airport is about a 20-minute drive away.

This 5-star resort, part of the Pestana hotel group, is built in Portuguese colonial style. Hand-painted ceramic tiles adorn the walls, and fine marble floors and elegant decoration create a tasteful ambiance. The brightly decorated Double Rooms Deluxe Superior have the same amenities as the Double Rooms Deluxe, but are more spacious (approx. 38 sqm) and offer a larger balcony and an extra bed for a 3rd person (DSU).

Breakfast from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, and dinner from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, served buffet-style. For stays of 7 nights or more, you can enjoy dinner (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM) twice a week in one of the three themed restaurants (Italian, Madeiran (Madeiran only open in summer)) subject to availability and prior reservation at reception. For stays between 4-6 nights, this is possible once a week. Snacks are available from 11 AM to 6 PM, and lunch snacks from 12 PM to 6 PM. Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (as per the hotel's drinks menu) are served during meals and at the bars during their respective opening hours from 11 AM to midnight.
