The hotel is located in the heart of Funchal's hotel district, separated from the sea only by the promenade. Next to the hotel is the Lido sea swimming pool. Funchal's city center is approximately 2.5 km away. Funchal Airport is about 19 km away.

Hotel Porto Mare offers its guests the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The hotel has 198 rooms, a lift, a buffet restaurant and three à la carte restaurants, several bars, and four conference rooms. The spacious garden features two freshwater swimming pools with a separate children's pool and a pool bar. Sun loungers, bath towels, and umbrellas are included by the pool. All facilities of the Suite Hotel Eden Mar and The Residence resort can be used.

The rooms (approx. 30-35 sqm) are comfortably and modernly furnished, featuring a bath/WC, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, bathrobe, safe (free of charge), Smart TV, telephone, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities, air conditioning, and a balcony (D). Also available for single occupancy (DE). For an additional charge, bookable with sea view and for single occupancy (DM/DEM).

Superior Double Room Sea View

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these rooms have been renovated and feature a minibar stocked with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, and a welcome gift (DMU).
Available for single occupancy for an additional charge (DME).
Also bookable as Superior Double Room Sea View Type O with limited availability and at a special price (UMO).

Junior Suite Side Sea View

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these suites are approximately 56 sqm and additionally feature a separate sleeping area (sliding door) and a kitchenette with a stove, a replenished minibar with water and soft drinks (filled once upon arrival), a Nespresso machine, microwave, welcome gift, and side sea view (J2S).

Star Tour Excursion Program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover Madeira's most beautiful panoramas on this half-day tour. From Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint, you overlook Funchal Bay, and then continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down into the crater of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker sleds. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbardfish – is caught). Continue via Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), then the route leads along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta de Sol, head up to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, descend to Porto Moniz to the natural swimming pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return journey is along the north coast via Seixal to São Vicente. From there, ascend via the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see both the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Depart into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Descend to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the heart of Madeira's Laurisilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue the journey to Santana, known for its thatched houses. The lunch break is taken here. Afterwards, head to Pico do Facho. Then return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes you on an approximately 1.5-hour Levada walk (difficulty: easy) to the Botanical Garden, famous for its around 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
