Location

This old family estate is located on the border between El Sauzal and La Matanza at an altitude of 550 m. The small town of La Matanza, known for its excellent typical restaurants serving local cuisine, is very close by. The area is also known for its good local wines. The owner family has run its own winery producing fine wines since 1880; a visit with the owner would certainly be possible if you are interested. Banks, supermarkets, bakeries, and butchers can be found in the town. Puerto de la Cruz with its beaches and seawater swimming pools is about 10 km to the north, the capital Santa Cruz is 25 km away, and it takes about 1 hour to drive to the airport.

Facilities

The typical Canarian country house dates back to the early 18th century and has been owned by the Flores family ever since. Originally, it was inhabited by the workers who cultivated the land. Today, the finca still has 3,000 m² of land, primarily planted with vines and fruit trees.
The house itself, with its 130 m² of living space, has been meticulously restored. The characteristic window recesses and ceiling beams are made of teak wood. Old furniture from the family's possession has been restored, creating charming areas that make the house resemble a museum. At the same time, it has been modernized to offer a good level of comfort. There is also a separate barbecue house with a rustic table and benches.
The garden in front features fruit trees, flowers, and a lawn. From here and from the terraces, you have a beautiful view of the sea and the entire north coast towards Puerto de la Cruz. The surrounding area is rural. The house is secluded, not overlooked, and very peaceful.

House

The lower level is generously designed with an integrated kitchen. The kitchenette extends along the entire front and includes a sink, ceramic hob, extractor hood, coffee machine, toaster, small refrigerator, and charming crockery in the authentic old wall cupboards. There are two different dining tables, a desk, and various seating areas. The sofa with a coffee table is positioned in front of a closed cast-iron stove (wood for this can be purchased from the landlord for a fee). The entire room is very bright due to the numerous windows, and the front third of the room is open to the ceiling with a large glass window inserted into the roof tiles.
The upper part of the house is accessed via a wooden staircase. The entire upper area still has the original, well-preserved wooden floors. One bedroom is separate and has two single beds (0.90 x 1.90) placed apart, a small round window, and sloped ceiling beams. The second bedroom has a French bed (1.35 x 1.90) and a charmingly painted toddler bed. Please note that this room is open to the living room, secured by a wooden veranda. In the center between these bedrooms is a small bathroom with a shower-bathtub (1.20 x 0.70), sink, and toilet.
The lower room has two doors leading to the outdoor terraces, which are furnished with charming garden furniture (F22).
