Location

The hotel is located amidst subtropical vegetation, directly above the white, fine-sandy bay of Esmeralda, with a wonderful view of the sea. Guardalavaca is approx. 5 km away, the airport in Holguin approx. 65 km.

Facilities

The complex consists of the Sol Rio de Mares Hotel and the Sol Rio de Luna Hotel. The reception area is open and spacious with a reception and the 24-hour lobby bar "1492". The hotel has 7 bars, 1 buffet restaurant with an open terrace, 4 à la carte restaurants (Cuban, Italian, Mediterranean, and International. 2 reservations per week included) and the discotheque in the evening in front of the beach bar “La Nina”. Furthermore, the hotel has two freshwater pool landscapes with a separate children's pool, swim-up bar, and sun terrace with loungers and umbrellas. A boutique, a souvenir shop, and 24-hour medical and laundry service (for a fee) complete the offering. The facilities of both hotels are fully available to our guests.

Accommodation is in the spacious rooms at Sol Rio de Mares or Sol Rio de Luna. These have a bath/shower, toilet, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, telephone, hairdryer, safe (rental), balcony or terrace.

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these large rooms consist of a living area with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and have a large balcony or terrace, offering side or direct sea views.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room, meaning occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!
