Note

In Mexico, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.
Hotels in Mexico are gradually introducing an "Eco-Tax".
Therefore, every hotel room user in Mexico is obliged to pay a local tax to the state at the hotel in cash.
**************************************
A tourism tax came into effect on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the length of stay in the country.
The tax can be paid electronically before departure via the following link: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. Brown algae are particularly common in the Caribbean during this period, affecting the beach and sea. Hotel management and local authorities are making efforts to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with local municipalities. However, this requires the use of equipment that may cause slight noise.
