Location

Nestled amidst tropical vegetation and along a kilometer-long sandy beach, the resort is approximately a 25-minute drive from Playa del Carmen and about a 20-minute drive from Tulum. The beautiful sandy beach is protected by an offshore coral reef. The Riviera Maya Golf Club is located within the resort. It's particularly well-suited for families.

Guests of Bahia Principe Grand Coba can also use the à la carte restaurants of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum (CUN161), giving them access to a total of 10 restaurants. Additionally, there is a shuttle bus between the hotels, the conference rooms, and the golf course.

Therefore, every hotel room user in Mexico is obligated to pay a state fee locally at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

As of April 1, 2021, a tourism tax came into effect, currently amounting to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approximately 11 US Dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae is often observed in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and sea. Hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may generate some noise.
