This means that every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a state levy locally in the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.
**************************************
A tourism tax came into force on April 1, 2021, and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos, or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.
The tax can be paid electronically before departure via the following link: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
Alternatively, the tax can be paid in cash upon arrival at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican Pesos or US Dollars. In Mexico, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

No Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

During stays between April and December, increased amounts of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased occurrence of brown algae in the Caribbean. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which generates a slight background noise.
