The Hotel Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla is located directly on the white sandy beach of Playa Esmeralda, overlooking Cozumel Island. The hotel is surrounded by lushly grown mangrove conservation areas. Shops, bars, and discotheques are just a few minutes' drive away. Cancun Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive from the hotel.

Hotels in Mexico will gradually be introducing an "Eco-Tax".
Therefore, every guest using a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a local tax to the state at the hotel in cash, similar to a tourist tax.

A tourism tax came into force on 1.4.2021 and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican Pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae is often recorded in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are of course making efforts to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the local administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which emits a slight noise.
