Location

The spacious hotel complex is located directly on the dreamlike white sandy beach of the Riviera Maya, surrounded by mangroves and palm trees. The airport is approx. 50 km away, and Playa del Carmen, with its wide selection of shops and bars, is about a 15-minute drive away.

The sprawling luxury resort, together with the Gran Riviera Princess, forms a large overall complex. It has 240 Junior Suites, 312 Deluxe Junior Suites, 24 Laguna Villa Suites and 96 Platinum Suites, 2 buffet and 7 à la carte restaurants (Mexican, Asian, "Grill Specialties", Italian, Fondue, Seafood, International Gourmet), a theater, 1 sports bar (24h), 9 bars (including 3 swim-up bars), a large fitness room and spa area with sauna (treatments for a fee) and a disco, shops, free Wi-Fi in the lobby and in the rooms. The outdoor area features a large pool complex, as well as 2 pools separated from the beach only by mangroves, with a swim-up bar, and an attractively landscaped garden area with small artificial lakes and great sculptures.

Junior Suite

The approx. 56 sqm Junior Suites (including balcony) have a king-size bed or 2 double beds, a sofa with a table and 2 chairs, a fully equipped bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite plasma TV, telephone, minibar (water, beer and soft drinks included, replenished daily), safe, coffee machine, iron and ironing board (on request). All Junior Suites have a balcony or terrace with garden view (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2).

Junior Suite Deluxe

The approx. 56 sqm Junior Suites (including balcony) have, with all other amenities being the same as the Junior Suites, a larger living/sleeping area and a bathroom with a whirlpool (J2D/J1D).

Junior Suite Deluxe Pool

These suites have the same amenities as the Junior Suite Deluxe but offer direct pool access from the terrace, as well as a built-in sun lounger in the water. For safety reasons, they can only be booked for guests aged 13 and over (J2P).

Platinum Suite

Same amenities as Junior Suite Deluxe, but with a whirlpool in the bathroom and a whirlpool on the balcony or terrace, close to the beach. Additionally, you will enjoy a separate exclusive pool and beach area with waiter service for premium drinks, as well as the Platinum Lounge with newspapers, hors d’oeuvres, bathrobe & slippers, turn-down service, internet access, upgraded minibar, DVD player, separate check-in, 24-hour room service, pillow menu, exclusive continental breakfast, à la carte breakfast and lunch, discount on green fees and spa treatments, and a gift in the room (PL2).

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.35 x 2m). With occupancy of 3+1/2+2, no extra beds are placed in the room, meaning 2 people per bed, even if rollaway beds are listed on the confirmation!

Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels are available free of charge at the pools and on the beach. All facilities of the Riviera Princess can be used. Beach shoes are recommended.
The seafood and gourmet restaurants are not included when booking a Junior Suite.

In Mexico, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools may be openly integrated into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

From now on, hotels in Mexico will gradually introduce an "Eco-Tax".
This means that every user of a hotel room in Mexico is obliged to pay a contribution to the state locally at the hotel, similar to a tourist tax.
From February 1, 2026, the municipal environmental tax will be levied as follows: first guest 35.19 MXN, second guest 23.46 MXN, third guest 17.60 MXN. This tax applies to all guests aged 13 and over, is paid by guests directly at the hotel upon arrival, and is levied per room and night.

A tourism tax came into force on 04/01/2021 and currently amounts to a one-time payment of 224 Mexican pesos or approx. 11 US dollars per person, regardless of the planned duration of stay in the country.

Alternatively, the tax can also be paid in cash upon entry at the airport. It is advisable to carry the exact amount in Mexican pesos or US dollars.

No smoking policy

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations can be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased occurrences of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, brown algae are often increasingly found in the Caribbean during this period. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are naturally endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, this requires the use of appropriate equipment, which may generate some noise.
